The range in diameter is from 1/2 inch up to 3 inches and can make curves over 180° with top finish quality for a minimum bending radius of 3 x the tube diameter. Thanks to our new “Digital Bend Programming Touch Screen”, these machines are extremely easy to use: it enables selection of up to 99 programs each of them with a 5-stop sequence in the bending operation with automatic adjustment for material springback. Bends produced on a 3D bend radius meet American Petroleum Institute (API) specifications for ovality (flattening) and wall thinning. THE CONCEPT: The Rotary Compression Bending Principle uses a stationary forming die and a powerful wiper arm that rotates around the die which pulls the work piece around the die to create the bend. The wiper arm locks into the rotating top plate. A variety of structural, roll formed and extruded sections can also be formed using the rotary compression process saving time and money! STANDARD EQUIPMENT: These Pedrick machines have a work surface and rotating top plate in heavy normalized steel plate mounted on a solid cast or alloy steel base frame. The bending arm is powered by an electric self braking, brushless SEW-Eurodrive right angle motor reduction unit mounted under the table. Bend cycle is controlled by a reversing contactors, motor overload protection modules and a control transformer, all which meet NEC, JIC and UL specifications. Switchgear is enclosed in a NEMA style cabinet complete with an external, Lock-Out/Tag-0ut fused disconnect. Adjustable limit switches and hand held controls are standard. Vertical format rolls with no open end yoke have the drive train located at the top. If an open end yoke for material removal is required, the drive train is located at the base of the machine and a pit is generally required so working height is close to the shop floor. Vertical geometries are available in 3 or 4 Roll Double Pinch as well as 3 Roll Initial Pinch as needs dictate. For specific needs, machines can be built that operate in both the vertical and horizontal positions.
